A Tie Dye Morning

Sometimes nature is so beautiful, it physically hurts.

The photos of this morning’s sunrise in the Staffordshire Moorlands make me so happy because:

  1. My talented Mum took the pictures from her garden (7.20am).
  2. The scenery reminds me of my childhood.
  3. I adore the shilouettes of the trees – so dramatic.
  4. Nature’s colour palette and cloud formation is spectacular. The orange mixed with the pink is sublime.
  5. Just by looking at the images, I can smell the crisp, fresh country air. Gosh, I miss that so much living in London.

Staffordshire Moorlands must be the most underrated county in England! Trust me, the scenery is breathtaking.

    1. I know, I have one talented Mum, huh!? I have seen those trees many many times with a blue, black or usually grey(!) background….So to see them like this is such a rare and amazing thing. Thanks for the positive comments – I am sure they will make my Mum happy too πŸ˜€.

    1. It really is a spectacular sunrise isn’t it! Those red / pink colours just get me each time I look at the photographs. Thanks so much for taking the time to look at the post and leave a comment. Always great to wake up on a cold dark Tuesday morning to lovely feedback. I will be sure to pass it onto my Mum. πŸ˜€

  1. Oh no, sorry you were in a hospital car park. The sunrise certainly wasn’t like that down here…but think you are based in the north east right? Thanks for commenting. I know my mum is going to be so pleased that she got a compliment from a proper photographer! Wishing you a great day.

    1. Hey Amy! Just peeked at my phone at work and saw this!! I am soooooooo sooooo excited that you have decided to create a blog. Seriously, am blown away. I think you will love doing it. It is so much fun. And I read a study (I think from Princetown University) which says that blogging has the same effect as meditation on the brain as you are so focused on one thing. Seriously Amy I am delighted. I think you will love it. Plus by reading other people’s blogs you get to learn so much / hear other people’s points of view. I truly can’t wait to read your posts. You are so intelligent and creative I am sure that they will be fab. Miss you loads too but we will be seeing you v soon. And it so great that you and Hats read the posts. Am not sure if you are up and running with the blog get? But I will promote it as much as you want me to. Lots of love! And again, I am so excited! Love Rakel xxxx

      1. I’m excited too! I think it’ll also be a good outlet to put all my ideas into, seeing as otherwise they’re floating around in my head all day, bothering me! At the moment I’ve only got a couple of posts up but I hope to get more up soon! I’d love that. xxxx

      2. Definitely! It makes my head so much clearer for logical decision making purposes! It really is fab. Can’t wait to get home tonight and check out your blog. It takes ages to get it just how you want it and the themes develop over time as you realise what works and what doesn’t. So interested to see how yours develops. Speak soon and you have one excited Aunt over here in London!!!!! Xx

    1. Why thank you! On behalf of my mum! Just looking around your blog for the first time now. It looks great. It is getting really late here now but I am going to read more tomorrow. Have a great weekend!

    1. Hi, thank you (on behalf of my mum)! I don’t believe so – those reds and oranges are not unusual in our sunsets – but I would like to check with my mum first and then will confirm back. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog and comment. Really makes me happy πŸ˜€

    1. Thanks so much!! And thanks for stopping by πŸ˜€. I have just been into your blog and it is really great. I look forward to following you. Have a great day.

  3. Lexa’s mum here.
Thank you all so much for your encouraging and inspiring comments.
My husband bought the camera for me in March when I reduced my hours at work.
No I didn’t use a filter. I am very new to photography but love the beauty of nature.
I woke on this particular morning and as I opened the curtains Ithought there was a fire outside.
I was so amazed by the sky that I braved the cold and went outside as a sunrise can change in a minutes.
I feel very blessed to have experienced this view. This morning I have snow!
